More FUn iN tHe SUN!

At the Fillmore home we hate wasting a good sunny day at home so we always jump in the truck and go for a ride, usually on the desert!
Of course our baby, Rex, goes with us, I don't care what you say he is a cute dog! If anyone has ever met him he LOVES to play fetch! If there is water involved when playing fetch on a hot day it is even better:)My little sis Lori went with us this time, I guess she doesn't get enough of Ross teasing her at home she has to go with us on the weekends as well, we love her though she's a great sis!

So we ended up going up the Henry Mountains from Sandy Ranch, in hopes that we would see some wildlife. By the time we reached the horn we decided we could make it all the way over and down off the other side that brings you out by Lake Powell. It was touch and go in a few spots and drifted a little but we made it, I admit I was a little nervous for a while thinking we were going to have to walk back into town. We stopped here on the other side where a fire had burned through a couple of years ago, this was by far the creepiest place I have ever been on a mountain. This little flat had great big white boulders all over and then HUGE tall trees that had been burnt. It was land I have never seen before, I love it when you go places you've never been! Josh came with us thinking that him & Ross could do some coyote hunting but the ONLY wildlife we saw all day was this flock of wild turkeys. Yeah I was disappointed and so were they, but it does give me hope for the turkey hunt in May, this will be a first for me, I've never hunted turkeys before, I think it will be fun!

And to finish the afternoon we stopped in Hanksville and got us an ice cream which was perfect because it was 63 degrees that evening. It was a fun day I love days like that when something simple like taking a ride with your family brings you pure joy!

  1. I love you dog..he is very cute!! Looks like you had fun out on the henry's. My mom told me about the area that was burned out there...she said that it was real pretty before it burned....we really need to come down and go play in the sunshine with all of you guys, but we are trying so hard to get the duplex done so that we can be down there all of May for the turkey hunt.... I also can't believe how fast time is flying...the wedding will be here before we know it... ahhhhh
