More FUn iN tHe SUN!

At the Fillmore home we hate wasting a good sunny day at home so we always jump in the truck and go for a ride, usually on the desert!
Of course our baby, Rex, goes with us, I don't care what you say he is a cute dog! If anyone has ever met him he LOVES to play fetch! If there is water involved when playing fetch on a hot day it is even better:)My little sis Lori went with us this time, I guess she doesn't get enough of Ross teasing her at home she has to go with us on the weekends as well, we love her though she's a great sis!

So we ended up going up the Henry Mountains from Sandy Ranch, in hopes that we would see some wildlife. By the time we reached the horn we decided we could make it all the way over and down off the other side that brings you out by Lake Powell. It was touch and go in a few spots and drifted a little but we made it, I admit I was a little nervous for a while thinking we were going to have to walk back into town. We stopped here on the other side where a fire had burned through a couple of years ago, this was by far the creepiest place I have ever been on a mountain. This little flat had great big white boulders all over and then HUGE tall trees that had been burnt. It was land I have never seen before, I love it when you go places you've never been! Josh came with us thinking that him & Ross could do some coyote hunting but the ONLY wildlife we saw all day was this flock of wild turkeys. Yeah I was disappointed and so were they, but it does give me hope for the turkey hunt in May, this will be a first for me, I've never hunted turkeys before, I think it will be fun!

And to finish the afternoon we stopped in Hanksville and got us an ice cream which was perfect because it was 63 degrees that evening. It was a fun day I love days like that when something simple like taking a ride with your family brings you pure joy!

MARCH MADNESS!

Well for those of you that haven't noticed it is March which means not only lots of windy and crazy weather, but it also means it's time for March Madness which in the Fillmore residence translates to "No more Grey's, One Tree Hill, or basically anything that Kaylin wants to watch!" because not only has Ross taken over the T.V. in our living room but there has been a few times when he is watching a game in our bedroom and tivo-ing a game in the living room. But most of the time he is content with just flipping back and forth from game to game. It is DRIVING ME NUTS! I was so thankful when football was over because I thought I could get back to my normal routine and now this! He sure does love his college basketball, I have to admit they are way better games than Pro ball. And to make things worse we HAD to watch the end of the last game in bed last night and of course it had to go into 6, yes I said 6 overtimes what the heck is that? It's notably the longest basketball game in history and we had to watch all of it! I love my man so I guess I will just have to grin & bear it until the season is over!

FAST CARS! NASCAR!!

Ok so watching Nascar on T.V. is a sad, pathetic way to watch Nascar! After being there in person it brings a whole different meaning to fast car! When I walked out into the arena and that first car went by for practice and was so loud & fast, I turned to Ross and just started laughing, it is AMAZING! We spent 3 days at the Las Vegas Motor speedway, just soaking up everything!
And here is my Guy! #9 Kasey Kahne on Friday during practice rounds, right before qualifying

And here is Ross' guy during practice rounds. Yeah AJ Almendinger he's kind of new and doesn't have any sponsors so his car changes about every race. Of course Ross has to cheer for the underdog!
The weather was SOOO nice it was in the 70's everyday, Friday was a little windy but once you were inside the stands you were out of it. It was basically a party for 3 days straight with about 180,000 other people! This is the Nationwide Race on Saturday, not as many people in the grandstands but it was still an awesome race. I think they had like 13 cautions which makes for an interesting day!
Ross' sister Andrea & her Husband Race invited us down to go with them and stay at there house in Henderson. Which was awesome we had so much fun and didn't have to wait 4 hours to get back into downtown Vegas! This will definitely be an annual trip!
And here is my guy again, he's actually pretty hot! This is Sunday right before driver introductions. This is a shot of pit row right before the race.
And here's the big race it was so freaking LOUD! I can't wait for next year it truly was amazing!
Andrea & I in our gear! We had black all over our faces because we were pretty close to the track so you would get rubber flecks off the tires all over you and in your drink, but we liked it!
And Andrea's guy Kyle Busch won the Sprint Cup series Shelby 427. So she was pretty excited!
